Sales Director

Sphere is seeking a seasoned Sales Director to drive revenue growth, cultivate strong client relationships, and lead a team of six client partners. In this role, you will oversee team efforts while actively engaging with key accounts, helping to unlock potential and achieve ambitious targets. We’re looking for a strategic, relationship-driven leader with a proven ability to enable and inspire teams, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels. Strong expertise in solutions-based selling and a confident executive presence are essential.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of six client partners in a hands-on, player-coach role focused on growing and nurturing key client relationships.
  • Own strategic, high-impact client accounts, ensuring revenue growth and client satisfaction in collaboration with the team.
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the client partnerships team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand client partnerships, retain existing relationships, and increase upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed revenue goals, quarterly milestones, and annual KPIs across client accounts.
  • Shape and execute tactical and strategic plans to drive revenue growth in line with corporate objectives.
  • Act as a mentor, teacher, and role model for team members, providing coaching and fostering professional development.
  • Embed Sphere’s values and culture into the client partnerships team, supporting change management and strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver transparent, effective communication with stakeholders on team performance,
  • Build expertise in solution selling and staffing, ensuring that the team meets client needs with precision and impact.
  • Represent Sphere in various client-facing channels and internal forums, demonstrating executive presence and thought leadership.
  • Support go-to-market strategies and business development initiatives through coordinated efforts with marketing, demand generation, and partner channels.
  • This is a remote role with approximately 25% travel for team meetings, client visits, and off-sites.

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technology and solutions sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing team(s).
  • Proven ability to streamline processes and drive rapid, sustainable benefits for clients and team members.
  • Strong sales acumen and a history of driving upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Data-driven mindset, with experience using data and analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative, cross-functional leadership within a B2B environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of sales processes, including forecasting, pipeline management, and solutions-based selling.
