About the Role
We are looking for a highly technical Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of AI-powered software solutions.
This is not a traditional Project Manager role. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation who has transitioned into project leadership after working as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Data Engineer, or Solution Architect.
The ideal candidate understands how modern software systems are designed and built, can communicate effectively with engineers and architects, facilitate technical discussions, clarify requirements, identify implementation risks, and successfully drive delivery of technically complex AI initiatives.
You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring that solutions are technically sound, well-defined, and delivered successfully.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI and software engineering projects from discovery through production.
- Work closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to define solution approaches and delivery strategy.
- Translate business objectives into technical requirements and implementation plans.
- Drive requirements discovery, solution analysis, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
- Facilitate technical discussions, architecture workshops, and solution design sessions.
- Review user stories, acceptance criteria, APIs, integrations, and system workflows to ensure implementation readiness.
- Identify technical risks, architectural dependencies, and delivery constraints early in the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate engineering teams while removing blockers and enabling efficient delivery.
- Ensure technical documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with implementation.
- Support release planning, UAT, production rollouts, and post-release activities.
- Collaborate with leadership on delivery planning, priorities, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience delivering complex software products.
- Previous hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or another highly technical role before transitioning into Technical Project Management.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system integrations, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams throughout the SDLC.
- Ability to understand technical designs, challenge implementation approaches, and facilitate engineering discussions.
- Strong analytical and systems thinking skills.
- Experience gathering and documenting functional and technical requirements.
- Experience leading Agile software delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience delivering AI, Generative AI, or LLM-based products.
- Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, LangChain, LlamaIndex, AI Agents, MCP, RAG, vector databases, or LLMOps.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Machine Learning projects.
- Previous hands-on development, architecture, QA Automation, or data engineering experience.
