About the Role
We are looking for Linux / Systems Engineers to support the development, maintenance, and deployment of preconfigured software environments on cloud-based virtual machines.
The team maintains a portfolio of ready-to-deploy software solutions, ensuring that applications can be reliably installed, configured, updated, and deployed in Linux environments.
The role involves working with software installation and configuration, system dependencies, shell scripting, deployment automation, and troubleshooting. Engineers will also contribute to preparing and maintaining deployment images for various software products.
We are looking for technically versatile engineers who can independently investigate unfamiliar technologies, work with documentation, identify problems, and implement practical solutions.
Responsibilities:

Maintain and update existing software deployment environments, ensuring compatibility with new software releases and dependencies.

Develop and configure new preconfigured software environments for various applications and services.

Prepare and maintain installation, configuration, and update scripts.

Troubleshoot installation, deployment, configuration, and runtime issues.

Investigate compatibility problems between software versions, dependencies, and Linux environments.

Read and interpret technical documentation to understand software requirements and implementation details.

Test installation and deployment workflows to ensure reliability and consistency.

Support and improve existing automation processes for software updates and maintenance.

Work with existing infrastructure and scripts, identify potential issues, and implement fixes.

Coordinate technical tasks and report progress through the team lead.
Requirements:

Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.

Experienced in installing, configuring, updating, and maintaining software in Linux environments.

Bash / Shell scripting skills.

Good understanding of Linux services, processes, packages, dependencies, and configuration files.

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar software and technologies using technical documentation.

Experience working with existing scripts and automation tools.

Ability to identify root causes of technical issues and implement solutions independently.

Comfortable working with ad hoc technical tasks and changing priorities.
Nice to Have

Experience with Go, particularly backend services or automation tools.

Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

Experience with cloud infrastructure and virtual machines.

Experience building or maintaining software deployment images.

Experience developing installation, provisioning, or deployment automation.

Familiarity with tools such as Ansible, cloud-init, Packer, or similar provisioning technologies.
